Disciplinary Response
Discipline means to teach, not to punish. The purpose of a disciplinary matrix is to provide administrators a predictable, progressive, and uniform guide for responding to challenging and dangerous behaviors that supports objectivity and consistency while maintaining a safe environment. Clarity may reduce disproportionate responses. An overarching goal is to ensure behavioral incidents will be used as instructional opportunities that serve our students’ long-term ability to thrive in a changing world.
